Art Minor

Art Program

The Art minor at St. Mary’s College of Maryland fosters a supportive environment that nurtures creativity while encouraging interdisciplinary exploration. Introductory courses provide a strong foundation in art-making and visual analysis, while a wide range of electives invites students to explore mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, digital art, and photography. At the advanced level, students expand their understanding of contemporary perspectives and interdisciplinary connections, engaging in self-directed projects that integrate their artistic pursuits with ideas and content from other fields of study.
